POWERMAN NEWS

High-quality TV production and eight-hour live stream with top commentary

The 36th Powerman Zofingen will once again be covered by top-level live broadcasts this year. The elite races will be shown in full in an eight-hour livestream. As last year, the live TV broadcast on Tele M1 and TV24 will last three hours. Both broadcasts will be produced by NEP and accompanied by experienced commentators and world-renowned experts.

The commentary duo for the English-language Powerman live stream will be flying directly from London to Switzerland. They are none other than Annie Emmerson (cover photo) and Trevor Harris, who will be commentating on the Powerman Zofingen long-distance world championship race together for the first time. Annie Emmerson combines vast expertise with decades of experience as a TV commentator and presenter. The former top athlete ended her career in 2006 as the world number one in duathlon. She then began working as an expert for Channel Four and quickly became a fixture on the BBC World Triathlon Series and a trusted voice at major sporting events, including the Olympic Games and the Commonwealth Games. Since 2018, she has been an important reporter and commentator for the Super League Triathlon. Trevor Harris is a highly experienced TV commentator with a passion for endurance sports. He has been the main voice of the World Triathlon Championship Series since 2009 and has also covered several Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games, as well as the World Duathlon Championships. Harris has worked for some of the UK’s biggest broadcasters, including Sky, ITV and Eurosport.

Tim Schmitz, an experienced sports journalist, will be providing commentary for the TV broadcast. The 37-year-old German from near Aachen has already reported on various sports for various print and online media outlets. Tim Schmitz has already accompanied fun runs and triathlons on the microphone as a presenter in endurance sports – and, of course, the Powerman Alsdorf Duathlon. Among other things, he was on duty at the 2024 European Championships, together with long-time Powerman livestream commentator Paul Groves, as well as the 2025 Middle Distance World Championships, which he commentated on in a global livestream. Schmitz will be joined on the TV broadcast by local experts Natascha Badmann, three-time Powerman Zofingen winner and six-time Ironman Hawaii winner, and former top duathlete Marc Widmer.

The NEP crew will provide exciting live images from Zofingen and will also be at work in the studio in Volketswil. Everything is in place for a spectacular broadcast with top commentary. The livestream will begin at 7:55 a.m. and can be viewed at www.powerman.ch. The TV broadcast on Tele M1 and TV24 will run from 12:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
