    Anticipation is building for the 2026 Powerman Zofingen

    In about one and a half months’ time, the international endurance sports scene will once again turn its attention to Zofingen. On 5 and 6 September, duathletes from all over the world will gather in the canton of Aargau, when the world championship titles for the long-distance event will once again be contested at the long-established Powerman Zofingen.

    The signs are already pointing to a top-class race weekend. Numerous elite athletes have named the Powerman Zofingen as one of their key targets for the season. And many age-group athletes are also already eagerly anticipating the race’s unmistakable spirit.

    It is no coincidence that the Powerman Zofingen holds a special place in the hearts of many athletes. For decades, the race has been regarded as the benchmark in duathlon. With a 10-kilometre run, a 150-kilometre cycle and a further 30-kilometre run, the long-distance event ranks among the most challenging competitions of all. Tough climbs, tactical cycling and the long final run are all elements that make up the appeal of this extraordinary challenge.

    But the Powerman Zofingen offers far more than just the Long-Distance World Championships. In 2026, participants and spectators alike can once again look forward to a varied race weekend. Alongside the World Championships and the open long-distance race, the programme includes a short-distance race (10 kilometres running, 50 kilometres cycling, 5 kilometres running) and the short-distance relay. As early as Saturday, the children’s races, the family race and the ‘Zofingen 5000’ five-kilometre fun run will provide a lively atmosphere, sport and exercise for all age groups. The weekend will be rounded off by a duathlon expo and a varied programme of supporting events (details to follow).

    Anyone wishing to be part of this special race weekend should seize the opportunity now: registration for the World Championships is only open until 31 July. Registration for the other competitions is also still open.

    Over the coming weeks, the field of participants will take shape and anticipation for the world’s most important and longest-standing duathlon race will continue to grow. Preparations in Zofingen for athletes and spectators are already in full swing – and the countdown to another chapter in Powerman history will begin very soon.
