A Historic Debut in 1989
The year 1989 marked the birth of what is now known as Powerman Zofingen, which was then still held under the name “Rennen und Bikes.” For Natascha Badmann, this inaugural event was a deeply personal milestone. It was the very first competition of her entire athletic career. With little prior experience but tremendous determination, she tackled the challenging courses in Zofingen. This starting gun laid the foundation for one of the most impressive careers the world of endurance sports has ever seen.
Rise to World-Class Status: Hawaii Victories and Triumphs at Home
That first competition gave rise to an unprecedented career in endurance sports. Natascha Badmann quickly matured into a world-class athlete:
• Six-time winner in Hawaii: She was crowned queen of the legendary Ironman Hawaii a total of six times (1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2005). With her unmistakable smile and mental strength, she captivated fans worldwide.
• Three-time winner in Zofingen: She also dominated at the birthplace of her career. She won the world’s toughest duathlon, the Powerman Zofingen, a total of three times.
A Loyal Partnership: Over 35 Years of Connection
Her love for the sport and for the event in Zofingen did not end with her retirement from elite competition. For over 35 years now, the close connection between this exceptional athlete and the event has endured. Today, Natascha Badmann works closely with the organizing committee (OC) of Powerman Zofingen. As a valued and active ambassador for the “Powerman” brand, she carries the spirit of the event out into the world.
The Voice of Powerman: Expert on TV and Livestream
In recent years, she has also taken on a completely new, central role for the event. Today, she is one of the most important pillars of TV coverage. As a co-commentator for major livestreams and live TV broadcasts, she provides up-close commentary on the race from behind the microphone. Viewers benefit enormously from her experience. She draws on her deep, comparative knowledge from her own active career. This enables her to analyze race tactics, course conditions, and the athletes’ mental state with a precision and excitement that few others can match. In doing so, she perfectly bridges the history of the race with modern live broadcasting.
